Caramel Apple Crock-Pot Dessert
Hello! Everyone is settling into a beautiful fall and guess what that means…? The crock-pots are coming out! What better way to warm up from the inside, while the temperatures are cooling down outside than with a slow-cooker meal. Some favorite slow-cooked meals around our house are pot roast with veggies and chili, but this is one that is simply irresistible! First of all, it is a great way to use up the over-abundance of apples that my parents’ apple tree has every year, and let’s face it…apples are about as “Fall-ish” as it comes. But also, this dessert is warm, caramel-ly and oh-so ooey gooey! And did I mention it’s only FOUR ingredients?!
That’s right, this amazing fall dessert is only four simple ingredients and believe me, you’ll find yourself making it over and over again. It is just perfect for those fall ‘get-togethers’ and potlucks all year round. I always love when I find a recipe like this one, that is impossible to screw up, because let’s face it, “mom-brain” is real! My LB (little bear) is almost two, and to be honest, he doesn’t ever get ‘dessert’. However, when grandma and grandpa came over for dinner and we started eating this caramel apple crock-pot dessert with some vanilla ice cream, he somehow re-appeared from his toy box to see what we were eating. One taste later, and he was hooked!!
So, go dig out those slow-cookers (if you haven’t already) and start rummaging through the pantry…this dessert is rich, delicious, and perfect with a scoop (or two) of ice cream on top. It is so easy using canned apple pie filling, but I think it would great with homemade apples too! Don’t have apples? I think you could substitute ANY fruit pie filling or even fresh fruit cooked with a dash of sugar and it would still turn out fabulous. Like I said earlier, I don’t know if it’s possible to mess up this tasty dessert.
